Materials and Prep

  • Spanish III textbook
  • Notebook and pen
  • Access to online Spanish resources (dictionaries, verb conjugators, etc.)
  • Computer or smartphone with internet access

Prior knowledge required: Basic understanding of Spanish grammar and vocabulary from Spanish I and II.

Activities

  1. Warm-up: Review vocabulary and verb conjugations from previous lessons by playing a game of Spanish charades. Have the student act out a word or a verb while the other person guesses the correct answer in Spanish.

  2. Listening comprehension: Choose an audio clip or a short video in Spanish related to a topic covered in Spanish III. Have the student listen/watch and answer comprehension questions in Spanish based on what they heard.

  3. Role-play: Prepare a dialogue between two people discussing a specific scenario or topic. Provide the student with one character's lines and have them create responses using appropriate vocabulary and grammar. Switch roles and repeat the dialogue.

  4. Writing practice: Assign a short essay or a paragraph on a given topic in Spanish. Encourage the student to use a variety of vocabulary, verb tenses, and sentence structures.

  5. Speaking practice: Engage in a conversation with the student entirely in Spanish. Discuss various topics, encourage the student to ask questions, and provide feedback on their pronunciation and fluency.
