Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will have a better understanding of a Bible story of their choice, be able to retell it in their own words, and create a fun craft to illustrate the story. This will help them connect with the teachings of the Bible in a creative and engaging way.
Materials and Prep
- Bible (or printed Bible stories)
- Paper and colored pencils or crayons
- Scissors and glue
- Craft supplies (optional: stickers, glitter, etc.)
- Space to work on crafts
Before the lesson, choose a Bible story that the student is interested in, such as Noah's Ark, David and Goliath, or the Good Samaritan. Familiarize yourself with the story so you can guide the student effectively.
Activities
- Story Time: Read the chosen Bible story together. Discuss what happens in the story and why it is important.
- Retelling the Story: Ask the student to retell the story in their own words. Encourage them to add their own thoughts and feelings about the story.
- Creative Craft: Have the student create a craft that represents the story. This could be a drawing, a diorama, or a collage using the craft supplies provided.
- Reflection: After the craft is complete, have a short discussion about what the student learned from the story and how it can apply to their life.
