Objective

By the end of this lesson, Tanner will have a deeper understanding of the themes, character development, and cultural significance of Dragon Ball. He will also engage in creative activities that enhance his critical thinking and artistic skills, all while having fun with his favorite series!

Materials and Prep

  • A notebook or sketchbook for drawing and writing.
  • Pencils, colored pencils, or markers for drawing.
  • A timer or stopwatch for timed activities.
  • Access to a Dragon Ball episode or chapter (if available) for reference.
  • Knowledge of the main characters and story arcs of Dragon Ball.

Activities

  • Character Creation:

    Tanner will create his own Dragon Ball character, complete with a unique backstory, special abilities, and a signature move. This will encourage creativity and character development skills.

  • Dragon Ball Debate:

    Engage in a friendly debate about who the strongest character is in Dragon Ball. Tanner will present his case and listen to counterarguments, which will enhance his persuasive speaking and critical thinking skills.

  • Art Time:

    Spend some time drawing his favorite Dragon Ball scene or character. This activity will allow Tanner to express his artistic side and reflect on what he loves about the series.

  • Theme Exploration:

    Discuss the main themes of Dragon Ball, such as friendship, perseverance, and self-improvement. Tanner will write a short paragraph about which theme resonates with him the most and why.
