Objective

Read the story of The Gingerbread Man together. As you read, pause at key moments to count characters or items mentioned in the story. For example, count how many animals chase the Gingerbread Man!

Gingerbread Man Counting Game:
After reading, create a simple game where the student pretends to be the Gingerbread Man and counts how many steps he takes to escape from each character. For example, "How many steps does the Gingerbread Man take to escape the cow?"

Number Match with Gingerbread Characters:
Draw or imagine different characters from the story. Ask the student to match numbers (1-10) to the number of characters they see. For example, "How many animals are there? Can you find the number that matches?"
