Objective

Materials and Prep
- A picture or drawing of the American flag
- Paper and crayons/markers
Activities
- Show the student a picture or drawing of the American flag. Discuss the colors and the shapes on the flag.
- Ask the student to draw their own version of the American flag using the paper and crayons/markers. Encourage them to include the stars, stripes, and the colors red, white, and blue.
- Once they have finished drawing, have a discussion about what the different parts of the flag represent. Explain the meaning of the stars, stripes, and colors.
- Display the student's artwork and have them explain their drawing to you, highlighting the important elements they included.
