Objective
By the end of this lesson, Arnia will understand the importance of keeping our community clean, learn how litter affects the environment, and create an art project that represents the beauty of a clean community.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Colored pencils or crayons
- A small bag for collecting trash
- A notebook for writing observations
- Access to a safe outdoor area for picking up trash
Before the lesson, review safety rules for picking up trash in public areas. Make sure to wear gloves if possible and identify what types of trash can be collected safely.

Community Clean-Up Walk
Arnia will take a walk in her community to pick up litter. She can use her bag to collect trash along the way. This activity helps her see firsthand how litter affects her surroundings.

After the clean-up, Arnia will write in her notebook about what types of trash she found and how it made her feel. This will help her think critically about waste and its impact on the environment.
