Objective

By the end of this lesson, Lincoln will understand the basic concepts of game design and storytelling through his favorite Roblox game, Door's. He will explore how to create engaging environments and characters, and learn to express his ideas in a fun and creative way.

Materials and Prep

  • Access to Roblox and the game Door's
  • A notebook and pencil for brainstorming ideas
  • Basic understanding of Roblox controls
  • A comfortable space to play and think creatively

Activities

  • Explore Door's

    Lincoln will spend some time playing Door's, paying close attention to the different environments, characters, and challenges. He should take notes on what he finds interesting or fun.

  • Create Your Own Room

    Using his notes, Lincoln will design a concept for his own room in Roblox. He will think about the theme, colors, and any special features he wants to include.

  • Storytelling Time

    Lincoln will create a short story or scenario that takes place in his designed room. He can think about who the characters are and what adventures they might have.

  • Share and Discuss

    Lincoln will present his room design and story to a family member. This will help him practice explaining his ideas clearly and confidently.
