Materials and Prep

Before the lesson, ensure that the student has access to Canva and understands how to log in. Familiarize them with the basic layout of the Canva interface.

Activities

• Design Your Own Poster

  The student will choose a topic they love (like animals, space, or their favorite book) and create a poster. They will learn to select a template, add images, and customize text.

• Color and Font Exploration

  The student will experiment with different colors and fonts available in Canva. They can create a mini project where they make a colorful title using various font styles.

• Adding Elements

  The student will learn to add shapes, icons, and illustrations to their poster. They can create a fun border or background design that reflects their personality.

• Share Your Creation

  Once the poster is complete, the student will present their design to you, explaining their choices and what they love about it. This will help build their confidence in sharing creative work.
