Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will understand how different things around us, like our friends, family, and the environment, can affect our health, safety, and ability to play and be active. They will learn to think about how these factors help us feel good and stay safe.

Materials and Prep

  • No special materials are needed; just a fun and open space for activities.
  • Prepare a safe area for physical activities, like a garden or living room.
  • Know some examples of how friends, family, and the environment affect health and safety.

Activities

  • Nature Walk Adventure: Take a walk outside and look for things that are good for our health, like trees, flowers, and animals. Talk about how these things help us feel happy and safe!

  • Healthy Snack Time: Discuss what makes a snack healthy. Together, pretend to make a healthy snack with imaginary fruits and vegetables. Talk about how eating healthy helps us play better!

  • Safety Superheroes: Pretend to be superheroes who keep each other safe. Role-play different scenarios, like crossing the street or wearing a helmet while riding a bike. Discuss why these actions are important!

  • Fun Movement Games: Play a game of tag or hopscotch. While playing, talk about how moving our bodies helps us stay strong and happy.
