By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to express themselves through movement and sound. They will learn to follow along with a rhythm while engaging in fun physical activities that promote coordination, listening skills, and creativity.
Materials and Prep
- 1 bell per child
- A clear space for children to stand in a circle
- Knowledge of the tune to "Go Round and Round the Village"
Activities
-
Jog and Jingle: Children will stand in a circle and jog in place while jingling their bells. They will sing along to the tune of "Go Round and Round the Village". This will be done three times to build rhythm and energy.
-
Movement Jingle: After jogging, children will be guided to perform different movements such as jumping, kicking, hopping, twisting, reaching, marching, tiptoeing, and stomping, all while jingling their bells. This activity will help them explore different ways to move their bodies.
-
Creative Dance: Encourage children to make up their own movements while jingling their bells. They can show how they feel through dance, promoting self-expression and creativity. Allow them to take turns leading the group with their own jingle dance!
