Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will understand basic strategies for teamwork and communication in Fortnite, as well as the importance of creativity and problem-solving in both the game and real-life situations.
Materials and Prep
- Notebook and pencil for taking notes
- Access to Fortnite (or a similar battle royale game) if possible
- Internet connection for research
- Creative mindset for brainstorming ideas
Activities
-
Team Strategy Session:
Gather with friends or family members (real or imaginary) to discuss what makes a good team in Fortnite. What roles do players take? How can they support each other? Write down the ideas in the notebook.
-
Character Design:
Encourage the student to design their own Fortnite character. What special abilities would they have? What would they look like? Draw the character and write a short backstory about them.
-
Build a Fortnite Map:
Using the notebook, have the student create a layout for their own Fortnite map. What locations would be interesting? What challenges could players face? Include notes on what resources they would find there.
-
Role-Playing Game:
Act out a Fortnite scenario with family members. One person can be the "storm," while others must work together to survive. This helps with teamwork and communication.
