Objective

By the end of this lesson, Giovanni will be able to introduce himself in Spanish, share his favorite color and animal, and understand basic greetings. He will also have fun while learning through engaging activities!

Materials and Prep

  • Paper
  • Colored pencils or crayons
  • A list of basic Spanish phrases (greetings, colors, animals)
  • Simple Spanish songs (optional for listening)

Before the lesson, make sure to familiarize yourself with some common Spanish greetings and vocabulary words related to colors and animals. Prepare a fun song or rhyme if you’d like to include music in the lesson!

Activities

  • Introduction Game

Start with a fun introduction game where Giovanni can practice saying "Hola, me llamo Giovanni" (Hello, my name is Giovanni). You can take turns introducing yourselves in Spanish and encourage him to add his favorite color and animal.

  • Coloring Activity

Give Giovanni a coloring page of animals and ask him to color them while saying their names in Spanish. For example, "Este es un perro" (This is a dog) or "Este es un gato" (This is a cat).

  • Spanish Song Time

Play a simple Spanish song or rhyme that includes greetings or colors. Encourage Giovanni to sing along and dance, making it a fun way to remember the words!

  • Flashcard Fun

Create simple flashcards with pictures of animals and colors. Show them to Giovanni and ask him to say the names in Spanish. This will help him memorize the vocabulary in a fun way!
