Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand and use basic English vocabulary related to everyday activities, express simple sentences, and engage in a fun conversation using learned phrases.
Materials and Prep
- Paper and colored pencils or markers
- A timer or stopwatch
- Access to a comfortable space for activities
- Knowledge of basic English vocabulary related to daily life (e.g., food, animals, hobbies)
Activities
- Vocabulary Drawing: The student will choose five everyday objects and draw them on paper. After drawing, they will label each object in English. This helps with vocabulary retention and spelling.
- Sentence Building Game: Using the vocabulary from the drawings, the student will create simple sentences. For example, if they drew an apple, they might say, "I like apples." This encourages sentence structure and speaking practice.
- Role-Play Conversation: The student will engage in a role-play where they pretend to be in a restaurant. They will practice ordering food using phrases like "I would like..." and "Can I have...?" This makes learning practical and fun.
- Word Scavenger Hunt: Create a scavenger hunt around the house where the student has to find items that match vocabulary words learned during the lesson. For each item found, they must say a sentence about it in English.

- Expressing Likes: "I like _____." This is useful for sharing preferences and making conversation.
- Asking for Things: "Can I have _____?" This phrase is essential for polite requests.
- Describing Actions: "I am _____." This helps the student explain what they are doing currently.
- Simple Questions: "What is this?" This encourages curiosity and interaction with others.
- Daily Activities: "I eat breakfast in the morning." This phrase helps the student talk about their routine.
- Expressing Feelings: "I feel happy/sad/excited." This helps the student communicate their emotions.
