Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to create a short story inspired by their favorite Roblox game, using proper narrative structure, character development, and descriptive language.

Materials and Prep

Activities

  • Roblox Game Exploration:

    The student will spend 20 minutes playing or exploring their favorite Roblox game. They should take notes on the characters, settings, and any interesting plot points they encounter.

  • Character Creation:

    The student will create a new character that could exist in their chosen Roblox game. They will write a brief character profile that includes the character's name, background, and special abilities.

  • Story Outline:

    The student will outline a short story that takes place in the world of their chosen Roblox game. They will identify the beginning, middle, and end of the story, including a conflict that the character must overcome.

  • Writing Time:

    After outlining, the student will write their short story, focusing on using descriptive language and dialogue to bring the characters and setting to life.

  • Story Sharing:

    The student will share their story with a family member or friend, receiving feedback on their writing and storytelling skills.
