Objective

By the end of this lesson, Logan will understand the basics of house hunting, including what to look for in a home, how to compare different options, and the importance of personal preferences in choosing a house. He will also create a fun presentation about his dream house!

Materials and Prep

  • Access to a TV to watch an episode of House Hunters
  • Paper and pencil for notes and sketches
  • Imagination and creativity!

Before the lesson, make sure to find an episode of House Hunters that Logan can watch. Encourage him to pay attention to the different homes and what the buyers are looking for.

Activities

  • Watch House Hunters:

    Logan will watch an episode of House Hunters and take notes on the different homes shown, focusing on what he likes and dislikes about each one.

  • Home Comparison Chart:

    After watching, Logan will create a comparison chart on paper listing the features of each home, such as number of bedrooms, size of the kitchen, yard space, and price.

  • Dream House Design:

    Using his notes and imagination, Logan will sketch his dream house, including all the features he loves from the homes he saw. He can label each part of the house.

  • Presentation Time:

    Logan will present his dream house design to you, explaining why he chose each feature and how it fits into his ideal lifestyle.
