Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to improve your reading skills through engaging activities related to your interest in Lego super heroes video games.

Materials and Prep

  • Lego super heroes video game (any version)
  • Writing materials (pencil, crayons, markers)
  • Blank paper or notebook

Activities

  1. Character Description: Choose one of your favorite Lego super heroes from the video game. Write a short description of the character, including their name, appearance, and special abilities. Use your imagination!
  2. Comic Strip Adventure: Create a comic strip featuring your chosen Lego super hero. Use speech bubbles to write dialogue and narrate a fun adventure. Make sure to include a beginning, middle, and end to your story.
  3. Word Search: Create a word search puzzle using vocabulary related to Lego super heroes. Include words like "superhero," "villain," "powers," and the names of your favorite characters. Challenge yourself to find all the words!
  4. Superhero Acrostic Poem: Choose a Lego super hero and write an acrostic poem using their name. Each line of the poem should start with a letter from the hero's name and describe something about them. For example, if you choose Batman, you could write: B - Brave, A - Agile, T - Tenacious, etc.
