Lesson Steps:
- Warm-up & Introduction (5 minutes): "Excited for E!"
- Begin enthusiastically: "Hello, my amazing explorer! Today, we are hunting for an exciting letter! It makes the 'eh' sound, like in 'egg' or 'elephant'. Do you know which letter that is?"
- Confirm: "It's the letter E! Let's all make the 'eh' sound: Eh, eh, eh!"
- Show a visual of uppercase E and lowercase e. "This is big E, and this is little e. They both make the 'eh' sound, and sometimes 'ee' like in 'see'!"
- Sing a quick "Letter E" song (e.g., "E is for elephant, eh, eh, elephant; E is for egg, eh, eh, egg.").
- ABC Mouse Exploration (10 minutes): "ABC Mouse E Adventure!"
- Log into ABC Mouse.
- Guide the student to Letter E activities, such as:
- Letter E videos or songs.
- Letter E tracing games.
- "Find the Letter E" games.
- Simple Letter E puzzles or coloring pages.
- Interact: "Let's explore what ABC Mouse has for letter E! What can we find that starts with 'E'?"
- Prompt during activities: "You found an E! What sound does it make?" "What's that picture? Does it start with E?"
- Creative E Application (7 minutes): "Egg-cellent E Creations!"
Choose one based on preference and materials:
- Craft: "Let's make an elephant! Use a big letter E shape as the body, then add a trunk, ears, and legs with paper or by drawing."
- Drawing: "Can you think of animals starting with E (elephant, eel, eagle)? Let's draw one! Or, draw a big E and decorate it like an Easter egg."
- Play-doh: "Let's make the letter E with play-doh! Can you make a big E and a little e?"
Reinforce E words: "Great job! What else starts with E? Let's say 'egg', 'elf', 'exit'."
- Wrap-up & Review (3 minutes): "E-normous Fun Review!"
- Ask: "We had so much fun with E! Can you tell me one word that starts with E?"
- Check sound: "What sound does E make?"

- Extend (optional): "Later, you can be an E detective and find the letter E in your books or around the house!"
