Activities
-
Warm-up: Sing the alphabet song together. Encourage the student to follow along with the letters on the flashcards.

Phonics Sound Hunt: Show the flashcards one by one and ask the student to identify the sound each letter makes. Write down the letters on the whiteboard or paper as they are identified.
-
Phonics Sound Practice: Using the written letters, guide the student to practice saying the sounds out loud. Encourage them to repeat after you and emphasize the correct pronunciation.
-
Word Building: Select a few letters and demonstrate how they can be combined to form simple words. Have the student try to build their own words using the flashcards and the letters they have learned.
-
Reading Fun: Read a short phonics-based story together, focusing on the sounds the student has learned. Encourage the student to identify familiar sounds and words as you read.
