Design Your Ultimate Roblox Bed Wars Champion!
Materials Needed:
- Paper or a sketchbook
- Pencils and an eraser
- Crayons, colored pencils, or markers
Learning Goals
In this lesson, your student will practice creativity, descriptive language, and storytelling by designing a brand-new character for their favorite game. They will think about what makes a character unique and use words to bring their idea to life.
Activity Steps (15-25 minutes)
-
Brainstorm (5 minutes):
Start by asking fun questions! "If you could create a new Bed Wars kit, what special power would it have? Would it be for attacking, defending, or gathering resources? What would the character look like and what would their name be?" Help your student brainstorm ideas about a cool new ability, like building extra-strong walls, jumping super high, or finding hidden emeralds.
-
Draw Your Champion (10-15 minutes):
Give your student the art supplies and encourage them to draw their character. Remind them to include details that show off the character's special power. For example, if their power is super speed, maybe they have lightning bolts on their shoes!
-
Describe Your Champion (5 minutes):
On the back of the drawing or on a new piece of paper, ask your student to write 3-4 sentences about their creation. This is where they introduce their champion. They should describe the character's name, their special power, and what makes them a great teammate in Bed Wars.
Ways to Adapt the Lesson
- For Extra Support: Offer sentence starters to help them write, such as: "My character's name is ________.", "Their special ability is ________.", "They help their team by ________."
- For an Extra Challenge: Ask your student to create a short comic strip showing their new character winning a game of Bed Wars, or have them design an opposing character for their champion to face.
How to Check for Understanding
Have your student proudly present their character to you! Ask them to read their sentences and explain why they chose that specific power and design. The goal is to see them share their creative ideas with excitement and clarity.
