By the end of this lesson, you will be able to watch Halloween ambience videos and practice language arts skills related to reading.

  • Halloween ambience videos (e.g., available on YouTube)

Activities

  1. Introduce the concept of Halloween ambience videos and explain that they are videos that create a spooky atmosphere.
  2. Show the student a Halloween ambience video and encourage them to observe and describe what they see and hear.
  3. Ask the student to identify any Halloween-related words they hear in the video. Write down these words on a piece of paper or a whiteboard.
  4. Read aloud the written words and ask the student to repeat after you. Practice pronouncing and recognizing the Halloween-related words.
  5. Choose a few Halloween-related words and ask the student to find objects or pictures in the room that represent those words. For example, if the word is "pumpkin," the student can find a toy pumpkin or a picture of a pumpkin.
  6. Encourage the student to create a short story or describe a scene using the Halloween-related words they have learned. They can use their imagination and incorporate the spooky atmosphere from the video.
  7. Have the student share their story or description with you. Provide positive feedback and ask questions to encourage further discussion.
