Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to improve your reading comprehension skills through a fun card game.
Materials and Prep
- A deck of playing cards
- A pen and paper
- Basic knowledge of card suits and values
Activities
-
Shuffle the deck of playing cards and place them face-down on the table.
Draw five cards and arrange them in front of you, face-up.
Choose one card to be your "target card" for this round.
Write down a brief description of the target card's suit and value on your paper.
-
Now, take turns with a partner.
Your partner will draw a card from the deck and describe it to you without showing it.
Based on their description, you need to guess if the card matches your target card or not.
If you guess correctly, you earn a point. If not, your partner earns a point.
-
Continue taking turns until the deck runs out.
Count your points and compare them with your partner's.
Discuss any strategies or observations that helped you make accurate guesses.
