Activities
-
Spellcasting Challenge
Ask the student to choose 10 spells from the Harry Potter series. They can write down the names of the spells on a piece of paper, leaving enough space for spelling corrections. Once they have their list, have them spell each spell out loud, and then compare it to the correct spelling. If they make any mistakes, they should correct them on their paper. Encourage them to practice the correct spelling until they feel confident.
-
Spell Sorting
Prepare a list of 10 words related to the Harry Potter universe, such as "Quidditch," "Muggle," or "Hogwarts." Write them down on separate pieces of paper or index cards. Shuffle the cards and place them face down on a table. The student should pick one card at a time, read the word out loud, and spell it correctly. If they spell it correctly, they can keep the card. If they make a mistake, the card goes back to the bottom of the pile. The goal is to collect as many cards as possible within a set time limit.
