Before starting the lesson, gather animal pictures or books to show the toddler and familiarize them with different animals.
Activities
- Show and Tell: Begin the lesson by showing the toddler different animal pictures or books. Talk about the animals and their characteristics. Encourage the toddler to ask questions and share their thoughts about the animals.
- Animal Collage: Provide the toddler with construction paper, scissors, and glue. Ask them to cut out animal shapes from the construction paper or use pre-cut animal shapes if available. Let the toddler glue the animal shapes onto another piece of construction paper to create their own animal collage.
- Animal Drawing: Give the toddler markers or crayons and ask them to draw their favorite animal. Encourage them to use different colors and be creative in their artwork.
