Materials and Prep
- Picture books about animals
- Animal flashcards
- Whiteboard or paper
- Markers or crayons
Activities
- Read Aloud: Start by reading a picture book about animals to the toddler. Encourage them to point out and name the animals they see in the book.
- Animal Flashcards: Show the toddler a series of animal flashcards one by one. Ask them to identify the animal and make the corresponding animal sound.
- Draw and Label: Give the toddler a whiteboard or paper and some markers or crayons. Ask them to draw their favorite animal and label it with its name.
- Animal Charades: Act out different animal movements and sounds while the toddler guesses the animal being portrayed. Encourage them to mimic the movements and sounds.
