Transitional-Kindergarten Grade Talking Points
- "Today, we are going to learn about mixing baking soda and vinegar."
- "Baking soda is a white powder that we can use in cooking, and vinegar is a sour liquid that we often use in salads or for cleaning."
- "When we mix baking soda and vinegar together, something interesting happens!"
- "The mixture starts to bubble and fizz. Can you hear the sound it makes?"
- "This reaction is called a chemical reaction. It creates a gas called carbon dioxide."
- "The carbon dioxide gas is what makes the bubbles and fizzing happen."
- "Sometimes, the mixture might even overflow out of the bowl, so it's important to have a tray or mat to catch any spills."
