Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to help the shape fish swim to the shape aquariums, while learning about different geographical features.
Materials and Prep
- Printed fish and aquarium shapes (circle, square, triangle, etc.)
- Scissors
- Glue or tape
- Large piece of paper or cardboard for creating the aquarium
Activities
- Create the aquarium: Cut out a large rectangular shape from the paper or cardboard. Decorate it with blue crayons or markers to represent water.
- Cut out the fish shapes: Use the printed shapes and cut out fish of different colors.
- Match the fish to the aquarium: Show the different fish shapes to your child and ask them to identify the corresponding shape on the aquarium. Help them glue or tape the fish to the correct spot.
- Discuss geographical features: Talk about different geographical features such as mountains, rivers, and forests. Explain how these features can be found in different parts of the world.
- Extend the activity: If your child is interested, you can create more fish and aquarium shapes to represent different countries or continents. Discuss the unique geographical features of each location.
