By the end of this lesson, you will be able to analyze and comprehend reading material related to Roblox, and demonstrate your understanding through engaging activities.

Materials and Prep

  • A computer or device with internet access
  • Access to Roblox website or app
  • Pen and paper
  • Printed reading material about Roblox (optional)

Activities

  1. Read and Discuss: Start by reading a short article or blog post about Roblox together. If you don't have printed material, you can find age-appropriate articles online. After reading, discuss the main ideas, any new vocabulary, and ask questions to check comprehension.

  2. Character Analysis: Choose a character from a popular Roblox game and have the student describe their appearance, personality, and role within the game. Encourage creative thinking and using evidence from the reading material to support their analysis.

  3. Writing Prompt: Ask the student to imagine they are a game developer for Roblox. Have them write a short paragraph describing their dream game idea. Encourage them to use descriptive language, incorporate elements they enjoy from other games, and explain why their game would be fun to play.

  4. Roblox Book Review: If available, provide the student with a book related to Roblox or a story inspired by the game. After reading, have them write a book review, including a summary of the plot, their opinion on the book, and whether they would recommend it to others.
