Animal Spelling Bee:
Choose an animal name and say it out loud. Have your child spell the name using their pencil and paper. Repeat this activity with different animal names.
-
Animal Picture Match:
If you have animal picture cards, lay them out in front of your child. Say the name of an animal and have them find the corresponding picture card. Then, ask them to spell the name of the animal they found.
-
Animal Name Creation:
Ask your child to create their own animal name by combining two different animal names. For example, "elephant" + "giraffe" = "elegraff". Have them write down their created animal name and spell it correctly.
