Prior knowledge of basic reading skills and familiarity with video games would be helpful.
Activities
- Introduce the video game-related text to the student. Read the title and discuss what they think the text might be about.
- Read the text together, taking turns or reading aloud. Encourage the student to ask questions and make predictions as they read.
- After reading, have a discussion about the text. Ask the student to summarize the main idea and key details. Prompt them to share their thoughts and opinions about the topic.
- Ask the student to write a short paragraph or a few sentences about their favorite part of the text, using proper sentence structure and punctuation.
- Encourage the student to draw a picture related to the text. They can illustrate a scene, a character, or anything that stood out to them.
