Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to explore the connection between health and the human mind through practical arts activities.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper and pencils
  • Art supplies (such as colored pencils, markers, or paints)
  • Access to a computer or tablet for research
  • Optional: Art reference books or magazines

Activities

  1. Create a Mind Map

Start by drawing a large circle in the center of your paper. Inside the circle, write the word "Health". From this central circle, draw branches outward and write down different aspects of health that come to mind, such as physical, mental, emotional, and social health. Then, for each aspect, create more branches and write down specific factors that contribute to that aspect of health.

  2. Design a Wellness Poster

Using the art supplies, create a colorful and visually appealing poster that promotes overall wellness. Include images, symbols, and text that represent different elements of health and well-being. You can research online for inspiration or use your own creativity.

  3. Write and Illustrate a Health Journal Entry

Imagine you are a health journalist. Write a journal entry describing a day in the life of a person who prioritizes their health and well-being. Include details about their physical activities, mental exercises, healthy eating habits, and any other practices they engage in to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Use your art supplies to illustrate your journal entry with relevant drawings or sketches.
