Objective
By the end of this lesson, the first grade student will be able to draw simple objects using basic shapes and lines.
Materials and Prep
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Blank paper
No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
Start by discussing different objects that can be drawn using basic shapes and lines, such as a house, a tree, or a car.
Practice drawing basic shapes, such as circles, squares, and triangles, on a blank piece of paper. Encourage the student to experiment with different sizes and positions of the shapes.
Guide the student to combine the basic shapes to create simple objects. For example, use a circle for the sun, triangles for the roof of a house, and rectangles for the walls.
Encourage the student to add details and color to their drawings using the pencil. They can use lines to create texture or shading.
Once the student feels comfortable with drawing simple objects, encourage them to create a complete scene using their newly acquired skills.
