Materials and Prep
- World map or globe
- Printed maps of the United States
- Pencils and coloring materials
- Index cards
- Scissors
- Tape or glue

Activities
- Introduce the concept of countries and explain that each country has its own unique characteristics, culture, and geography.
- Show the student a world map or globe and point out the different continents. Discuss how countries are located within these continents.
- Focus on the United States of America. Provide the student with printed maps of the United States and have them color each state.
- Using index cards, write the names of different countries. Cut out these cards and have the student match each country to its location on the world map or globe.
- Encourage the student to research and learn more about one specific country of their choice. They can create a small presentation or poster to share their findings.
