- Animal sounds recording (optional)
No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.
Activities

- Draw a simple food chain on the whiteboard or paper, starting with plants and ending with a predator animal. Explain how animals depend on each other for food.
- Play animal sounds recording (if available) and ask the student to identify the animals based on the sounds they hear. Encourage them to imitate the sounds as well.
- Take a nature walk in your backyard or a nearby park. Look for signs of animal presence, such as footprints, nests, or burrows. Discuss how animals create habitats in different environments.
Toddler Grade Talking Points

- "Some animals live in the forests, while others live in the ocean or even in our homes."
- "Animals need food to survive. Some eat plants, while others eat other animals."
- "Listen carefully to the sounds animals make. Can you guess which animal is making each sound?"
- "When we go outside, we can find clues that animals have been there. Let's look for footprints or homes they build."
