Objective

Materials and Prep
Materials needed: paper, pencils, erasers, colored pencils or crayons. No prior knowledge required.
Activities
Begin by discussing different animals and their characteristics. Encourage the student to choose an animal they find interesting.
Have the student sketch their chosen animal, paying attention to details such as fur, feathers, scales, etc.
Once the sketch is complete, have the student use colored pencils or crayons to add color and texture to their drawing.
Ask the student to explain their artwork, using art vocabulary such as texture, form, and color.
