Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to spell words related to cars, physical activity, animals, and cooking.
Materials and Prep
You will need a piece of paper and a pencil. Before the lesson, make sure to have a discussion about the topics of cars, physical activity, animals, and cooking with your child.
Activities
-
Car Spelling Race: Write down the names of different cars on small pieces of paper. Place them at one end of the room. Have your child run to the papers, pick one up, and spell the name of the car out loud before running back to you.
-
Animal Alphabet Hunt: Choose an animal and take turns thinking of words that start with each letter of the animal's name. For example, if the animal is "elephant," you can think of words like "ear," "leap," "apple," "nest," "trunk," "hip," and "toss."
-
Cooking Word Scramble: Write down cooking-related words on small pieces of paper and scramble the letters. Have your child unscramble the letters to form the correct words.
