Third Grade Talking Points
- Plants are living things that make their own food from sunlight, water, and air. They are essential for the environment and provide us with oxygen to breathe. You can say, "Plants are like nature's little chefs, making their own food from sunlight and air, and giving us the air we need to breathe."
- Animals come in all shapes and sizes, and they have different ways of moving, eating, and surviving in their habitats. You can say, "Animals are like nature's actors, each playing their own unique role in the environment, from crawling insects to soaring birds."
- Exploring nature helps us learn about the world around us and appreciate the beauty of the outdoors. You can say, "When we explore nature, we get to see all the amazing things that plants and animals can do, and it helps us understand how important it is to take care of our environment."
