Objective

By the end of this lesson, the Grade 1 student will be able to understand basic concepts related to Earth in the context of biology.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper and pencils
  • Coloring materials (crayons, markers, etc.)
  • Access to a computer or tablet with internet
  • No prior knowledge or preparation required

Activities

  1. Activity: Earth Coloring

    Ask the student to draw and color the Earth on a piece of paper. Encourage them to include landmasses, oceans, and any other features they may know.

  2. Activity: Earth Song

    Play a fun and educational song about the Earth. You can find many options on educational websites or streaming platforms. Encourage the student to sing along and dance to the music.

  3. Activity: Earth Facts

    Together, explore some interesting facts about the Earth. Use a computer or tablet to search for information or use age-appropriate books. Discuss topics such as the Earth's size, the presence of water, and the importance of taking care of our planet.
