Activities

Introduce the concept of informational texts and explain that they provide facts and details about a specific topic.

Choose an animal book or article and read it aloud to the student. Encourage them to listen carefully and ask questions if they don't understand something.

After reading, discuss the main ideas and key details of the text. Ask the student to recall facts they learned about the animal.

Give the student a different animal book or article to read independently. Ask them to underline or highlight important information they find interesting or useful.
