Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand and use basic Japanese phrases and vocabulary related to a role-playing game on an iPad app.

Materials and Prep

  • iPad or tablet with the chosen role-playing game app installed
  • Pen and paper for note-taking
  • Access to online Japanese-English dictionary or translation app

Activities

  1. Introduce the role-playing game app to the student and explain its concept and gameplay.

    Discuss the setting, characters, and objectives of the game.

  2. Identify common phrases and vocabulary used in the game.

    Use the online Japanese-English dictionary or translation app to translate and understand the meaning of these phrases and vocabulary.

  3. Practice pronunciation of the phrases and vocabulary.

    Encourage the student to repeat after you and focus on correct pronunciation.

  4. Create a dialogue or scenario related to the game using the learned phrases and vocabulary.

    Role-play the dialogue with the student, taking turns playing different characters.

  5. Encourage the student to explore the game further and try using the learned phrases and vocabulary during gameplay.

    Provide guidance and support as needed.
