Materials and Prep

  • Computer or tablet with internet access
  • Pen and paper
  • Roblox account (if available)

Activities

  1. Read and Discuss Roblox Game Descriptions

Have the student search for different Roblox games that interest them. Ask them to read and analyze the game descriptions. Encourage them to identify key details, characters, and settings mentioned in the descriptions.

  2. Create a Roblox Vocabulary List

Ask the student to write down any unfamiliar words they come across while reading the game descriptions. Together, look up the meanings of these words and create a vocabulary list specifically related to Roblox. Discuss the importance of understanding new words in order to enhance reading comprehension.

  3. Read and Write Game Reviews

Have the student choose one of the Roblox games they found interesting and ask them to play it (if possible) or watch gameplay videos. Afterward, encourage them to write a short review of the game, highlighting their favorite aspects and providing constructive feedback. Discuss the importance of expressing opinions and supporting them with evidence from the game.

  4. Create a Story based on Roblox Characters

Ask the student to choose a few Roblox characters from different games and create an original story involving those characters. Encourage them to use their imagination and incorporate elements from the game descriptions they read earlier. Have them write or verbally tell the story, emphasizing the importance of storytelling and creativity in reading.
