Materials and Prep

Activities
- Read Aloud: Start by reading a fun animal-themed book aloud to the student. Encourage them to listen carefully and ask questions about the animals in the story.
- Animal Identification: Show the student pictures or flashcards of different animals. Ask them to name each animal and describe its characteristics. Help them with any unfamiliar animals.
- Animal Drawing: Have the student choose their favorite animal from the ones shown. Provide them with paper and crayons and ask them to draw the animal as best as they can. Encourage creativity!
- Animal Story Writing: Ask the student to create a short story about their chosen animal. Help them write down their story using simple sentences. They can also draw illustrations to go along with their story.
