Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to engage in physical activities and games while understanding the importance of staying active for their health.

Materials and Prep

  • Open space for physical activities
  • Various game props (e.g., balls, cones, hula hoops)
  • Water bottles for hydration

Activities

  1. Warm-up Game: Simon Says

    Play a fun game of Simon Says to warm up the body. Give instructions such as "Simon says touch your toes" or "Simon says hop on one foot." Encourage the student to follow the instructions and move their body accordingly.

  2. Obstacle Course

    Set up a simple obstacle course using cones, hula hoops, or any other available props. The student can crawl under a limbo stick, jump over cones, and hop inside hula hoops. Time the student and encourage them to complete the course as fast as they can while maintaining safety.

  3. Ball Toss

    Stand a few feet away from the student and toss a ball gently towards them. Encourage the student to catch the ball using their hands. Gradually increase the distance and difficulty level to challenge their catching skills.

  4. Cool-down Stretching

    Guide the student through a series of gentle stretches to cool down their body after the physical activities. Encourage them to stretch their arms, legs, and back while taking deep breaths.
