Activities
-
Introduce the concept of animals to the student. Show them pictures or illustrations of different animals and ask them to name the animals they recognize.
-
Discuss the characteristics of animals. Ask the student questions such as:
- What do animals eat?
- Where do animals live?
- How do animals move?
Encourage the student to think about different animals they know and how they answer these questions.
-
Engage the student in a drawing activity. Provide them with a whiteboard or large paper and ask them to draw their favorite animal. Encourage them to include the animal's habitat and any distinguishing features.
-
If available, use animal flashcards to play a matching game. Show the student a flashcard and ask them to find the matching animal picture from the ones you provided earlier.
