Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to recognize and count numbers from 1 to 10.
Materials and Prep
- Number flashcards (1-10)
- Writing materials (crayons, markers, or pencils)
- Blank paper or a whiteboard
No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Number Recognition: Show the student each number flashcard and ask them to say the number out loud. Repeat this activity multiple times.
- Number Tracing: Give the student a blank paper or a whiteboard. Ask them to trace each number using their writing materials. Encourage them to say the number as they trace it.
- Number Counting: Using the flashcards, ask the student to count the objects shown on each card. For example, if the card has three apples, the student should say "three" while pointing to the apples.
- Number Matching: Write the numbers 1 to 10 randomly on a piece of paper or whiteboard. Give the student small objects such as buttons or coins. Ask them to place the correct number of objects next to each written number.
