Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to recognize and spell the letters of the alphabet.
Materials and Prep
- Alphabet flashcards or printouts
- Writing materials (crayons, markers, or pencils)
Activities
-
Alphabet Flashcards: Show the flashcards one by one and ask the student to identify the letter. Encourage them to say the letter out loud and repeat it a few times. Repeat this activity until the student is familiar with all the letters of the alphabet.
-
Letter Tracing: Give the student a piece of paper and ask them to choose a letter they want to practice. Write that letter on the paper in large size. Encourage the student to trace over the letter using a crayon, marker, or pencil. Repeat this activity with different letters.
-
Letter Hunt: Hide the alphabet flashcards around the room. Ask the student to find a specific letter and bring it back to you. Once they find the letter, ask them to say the letter out loud and spell a word that starts with that letter.
