Activities
- Introduction: Start by discussing the letter A and its sound. Ask the student if they can think of any words that start with the letter A. Write down their answers on the whiteboard or paper.
- Read Aloud: Choose a book or reading material that contains several words starting with the letter A. Read it aloud to the student, emphasizing the words that start with A.
- Word Hunt: Give the student a piece of paper and ask them to find and write down as many words as they can think of that start with the letter A. Encourage creativity and provide assistance if needed.
- Word Sort: Using the words generated in the previous activity, ask the student to sort them into categories such as animals, food, or objects. This will help them understand different contexts in which words starting with A can be used.
- Story Creation: Ask the student to create a short story using as many words starting with A as possible. They can either write it down or tell it orally. Encourage them to be imaginative and have fun with the story.
