Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to communicate effectively by using interpersonal conventions and language to extend and elaborate ideas for social and learning interactions.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: paper, colored markers, stickers

Preparation: Set up a comfortable workspace with the materials listed above.

Activities

  • Create a Story: Use the paper and markers to create a storybook. Draw pictures and write sentences to extend and elaborate your ideas.

  • Role-play: Pretend to be different characters and have conversations. Practice using polite language and asking questions to extend your interactions.

  • Art of Conversation: Sit with a family member or a friend and have a conversation. Practice listening carefully and responding with thoughtful ideas.
