Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to use geographical tools to explore and communicate information about different places around the world.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: world map, globe, markers, paper, and a computer with internet access.

Prep: Make sure the world map and globe are easily accessible for the activities.

Activities

  • Map Coloring: Use the world map to color different continents. Label them with the correct names.
  • Country Research: Pick a country and research about it online. Find out about its capital, flag, language, and famous landmarks.
  • Flag Making: Choose a country and draw its flag on a piece of paper. You can then show it to your family and explain what each color or symbol represents.
  • Geography Quiz: Create a quiz with questions about different countries and their capitals. Test your family members and see who knows the most!
