Materials and Prep
Materials needed: Your chosen book, notebook, pen/pencil
Prep: Read a few chapters of your book before starting the lesson
Activities
1. Vocabulary Hunt: Choose 5 new words from your book, write them down, and find their meanings. Use each word in a sentence.
2. Character Analysis: Pick one character from your book and create a character profile. Include traits, motivations, and actions.
3. Literary Elements Scavenger Hunt: Identify examples of similes, metaphors, and personification in your book. Write them down and explain their meanings.
4. Grammar Detective: Find 5 different types of sentences (declarative, interrogative, imperative, exclamatory) in your book. Write them down and label each type.
5. Book Review: Write a brief summary of what you've read so far. Include your favorite part and why you would recommend this book to a friend.
