Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to talk about your favorite pets and fruits using the words 'in', 'on', and 'under'.
Materials and Prep
- Pictures of pets: dog, cat, rabbit, turtle, bird, parrot, frog, fish, mouse
- Pictures of fruits: apple, pear, orange, grapes, lemon, strawberry, peach, banana, cherry, kiwi, melon, watermelon
- Comfortable learning space
Activities
- Pet Parade: Arrange the pet pictures in a line. Practice saying where each pet is using 'in', 'on', and 'under'.
- Fruit Hunt: Hide the fruit pictures around the room. Find each fruit and say where it is using 'in', 'on', and 'under'.
- Do you like...? Hold up a picture of a pet or fruit and ask the student, "Do you like [pet/fruit]?" Encourage them to answer with "Yes, I do" or "No, I don't".
Talking Points
- Pets: "Let's talk about pets! Pets can be in a house, on a bed, or under a table."
- Fruits: "Now, let's look at fruits! Fruits can be in a bowl, on a plate, or under a napkin."
- Do you like...? "Do you like dogs? Yes, I do! Do you like apples? No, I don't! Let's talk about our favorites!"
